Yes!! No, definitely was aspiring to romance novel cover-hood, so thank you very much!! Those were always a treat to look at and I agree they're pretty boring now. I know someone who's cousins publish romance novels (ones a writer, the other sister helps with everything else) and they were talking to me about it, but they all have to be really realistically painted. I was thinking maybe I could do some professionally a couple of years down the road...not quite there yet.
Yeah, my painting is a bit too stylized for airbrushed photorealistic paintings of waxed chests, but I can aspire, at least, to Old School Regency style covers. If you, however, can make it to romance covers, I would be thrilled! I think the thing is to keep practicing. Practice makes perfect, as you know.
Indeed!!! It would be such an awesome thing to tell people that's your job/clientele haha....except I'd constantly be pushing for hairy chests (again with the 70s!).
You would definitely make fantastic Regency period (um, or like any historical period) book covers! SO, I plan to quit my full-time job quite soon to go back to school for a year for entertainment design courses so I cannot tell you how pumped I am to be a student and just practice my ass off! I almost feel guilty about how excited I am....but not really. HELLOOOOOO anatomy class and perspective!
I love that description! When I went to comic con his daughter was there with some of his original work, very cool. And I remember Momoa went over and bought some of his work, so everything you've just said just came full circle in my brain.
